A thoughtful gesture of appreciation for journalists covering Malaysia’s national budget.
On October 10, 2025, at the Parliament Building in Kuala Lumpur, Minister of Communications Datuk Fahmi Fadzil and Deputy Minister Teo Nie Ching took a moment to personally hand out Borenos meal packs to members of the media covering the presentation of Malaysia’s Budget 2026 by Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
The simple yet meaningful act, captured by Bernama, reflected the government’s appreciation for journalists and media professionals who dedicate long hours ensuring Malaysians receive timely, accurate information during major national events.
A Familiar Face with a Local Brand
This isn’t Datuk Fahmi’s first encounter with Borenos.
A long-time supporter of Malaysia’s home-grown fast-food brand, Datuk Fahmi has visited several of our outlets in Asia City and Tawau, and was among the first customers to stop by our Puchong outlet – Borenos’ very first branch in West Malaysia.

His continued support over the years is deeply appreciated by the entire Borenos team. It serves as a reminder of how local Malaysian brands can bring people together across regions, from Sabah to Selangor, united by a love for good food and community spirit.
Recognising the Media’s Role
For the team at Borenos, being part of this small but meaningful moment was an honour.

The gesture underscored the important role of Malaysia’s media community, who often work behind the scenes to keep the public informed and engaged.
By sharing our freshly prepared meals with those covering the Budget 2026 session, Borenos was able to extend the same warmth and hospitality that define our brand, one grounded in care, respect, and community connection.
Celebrating Sabah’s Warmth Nationwide
Founded in Sabah, Borenos has always aimed to share the spirit of Sabahan hospitality across Malaysia.
What began as a single restaurant in Kota Kinabalu has grown into a proudly Malaysian brand, serving tasty meals made with fresh, high-quality ingredients.
From our roots in East Malaysia to our expansion in the West, every meal served carries the same promise: freshly made, wholesome, and proudly Malaysian comfort food.
