The recent floods in Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, and Papar have left many families struggling. At Borenos Fried Chicken, we believe food is more than just a meal. It’s comfort, care, and a reminder that no one faces hardship alone.
That’s why we launched the Borenos Flood Care Meal initiative, a programme to support flood-affected families with affordable meals and to give the wider community a way to help directly.
What is the Borenos Flood Care Meal?

From 15th to 21st September 2025, all flood victims can claim a 1pc Chicken Rice Set Meal at:
- RM5 (dine-in)
- RM6 (takeaway)
📍 Available daily at all outlets in Sabah (except Tawau) during these hours:
- 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
- 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Each outlet has 1,000 sets available per day.
How Can You Contribute to Borenos Flood Care Meal?
Anyone who wishes to help can donate meals:
- Directly at any Borenos outlet in Sabah (except Tawau)
- Or via WhatsApp: +60183879988
Your contribution will go straight to those most affected by the floods: families, students, and individuals in need of a hot meal.
1,800 Meals Served To Date

The response from the community has been overwhelming. In just the first few days:
- More than 1,800 set meals have already been purchased through the initiative, including both donated meals and those claimed by flood victims
- Families in Penampang, Papar, and surrounding communities have been able to access hot meals, a small measure of relief as they recover
- Organisations and individuals alike have stepped forward, showing the true spirit of Sabah
A Community Effort Beyond Borenos

What makes this effort meaningful is the support it has received from caring individuals and organisations. Several organisations have donated meals, while many individuals have chosen to pre-pay meals so flood-affected families can walk in and collect them directly at our outlets. Every gesture, big or small, has helped extend the reach of this programme, and we are truly grateful for the kindness shown.

Always with Sabah
The Borenos Flood Care Meal is more than food. It’s a reminder that we are stronger when we come together.
As a local Sabahan brand, Borenos is committed to standing with our community, not just in moments of celebration, but also in times of hardship. Together, we can continue to show compassion and strength, one meal at a time.
