During the holy month of Ramadan, Azrul Bin Ibrahim, Chief Political Secretary to the Chief Minister of Sabah and former Director of the Institute for Development and Rakyat Cooperation, led a meaningful Ramadan outreach effort across the Papar district.
Together with leaders and members of Pemuda and Beliawanis Gagasan Rakyat Sabah from Kawang, Pantai Manis, and Limbahau, the team personally delivered freshly prepared Borenos sahur meals to individuals working overnight shifts.
While many families were preparing for sahur at home, these frontliners remained on duty. This outreach ensured they too could enjoy a warm and satisfying meal before beginning their fast.
Delivering Sahur Meals to Police, Security Guards, and Firefighters

The Ramadan outreach focused on recognising individuals whose service often goes unseen during festive periods. Visits were made to multiple duty stations across Papar, including security posts, police facilities and emergency response units.
Sahur meals were delivered to:
- Security guards stationed at schools and public facilities
- Police officers at Balai Polis Papar
- Firefighters and emergency response personnel
- Other frontliners carrying out night duties
By visiting them directly at their posts, the outreach went beyond symbolic appreciation. It demonstrated presence, gratitude and solidarity during a meaningful month.
Ramadan in Sabah: Leadership That Shows Up

Ramadan in Sabah is deeply rooted in compassion, reflection, and community care. Grassroots engagement remains one of the most powerful ways to strengthen bonds between leaders and the communities they serve.
This initiative reflected active leadership on the ground. Youth leaders from Gagasan Rakyat Sabah worked side by side with senior representatives, reinforcing the importance of collective responsibility. The collaboration highlighted how political leadership, youth movements, and local businesses can align in service of a shared purpose.
Initiatives like this help reinforce a culture where appreciation is expressed through action, not just words.
Why Borenos Was Chosen for This Ramadan Outreach

As a locally owned Sabah brand, Borenos has long been associated with bringing people together through food. For sahur distribution during Ramadan, meals must be practical, filling and suitable before a day of fasting.
Borenos meals are prepared using halal-certified ingredients and are known for their reliability and consistency. For frontliners working through the early hours, a meal that is both convenient and satisfying makes a meaningful difference.
Food does more than nourish the body. It strengthens human connection. During Ramadan, that connection carries even greater significance.
More Than a Meal: Strengthening Community Bonds

This Ramadan outreach in Papar was not just about meal distribution. It was about acknowledging unseen service.
Security personnel, police officers, and firefighters often spend festive periods away from their families. Delivering sahur meals directly to their stations sends a clear message of respect and appreciation.
A simple meal delivered at the right moment can symbolise unity, gratitude, and shared responsibility within a community.
The Borenos Care Meal Programme: A Structured Pathway for Community Outreach

While this particular Ramadan outreach was independently organised, it reflects the same spirit behind the Borenos Care Meal Programme, a structured initiative that enables organisations, NGOs and community groups to sponsor halal-certified meals at special programme rates.
Groups planning Ramadan meal distributions, frontliner appreciation efforts, or broader community outreach initiatives in Sabah can collaborate with Borenos through this programme.

A Night of Service, A Shared Commitment

The Ramadan outreach across Papar stands as a reminder that meaningful leadership is visible, grounded, and community-focused.
Azrul Bin Ibrahim and the leaders of Pemuda and Beliawanis Gagasan Rakyat Sabah demonstrated how coordinated community engagement can uplift those who serve quietly through the night. Through collaboration with a locally owned Sabah brand, the initiative highlighted how public service and community enterprise can work together to deliver real impact.
At Borenos, we remain committed to supporting initiatives that bring people together, strengthen community bonds, and deliver nourishment where it matters most.
Because during Ramadan, even a simple sahur meal can carry profound meaning.
